Genesis Elevator really enjoyed working with Cobb County on the install at their new Freshman Academy!  

“Housed in a new 72,000 square foot facility, this building has twenty-eight classrooms, three computer labs, a 9th grade cafeteria and one interdisciplinary lab. Together with a dedicated staff of 36 teachers, counselors and administrators, the Freshmen Academy is equipped to provide your student with the building blocks necessary to form a strong successful foundation for high school.”

Yesterday we attended a presentation by the owner of North American Properties and Atlantic Station, Mark Toro. The focus was on making sure everyone believed in what NAP believed and that we conduct  ourselves in accordance with those believes. It was interesting that NAP shares the similar values of family and excellence that we do at Genesis. This was proven by Jeff Whitlow being honored as a key member of the Atlantic Station Property. Jeff has done an outstanding job and has maintained a great “can do” attitude. Congratulations Jeff on this Honor!

The answer is yes when talking about lifts in Georgia.  All residential and commercial lifts are regulated by the Georgia department of labor.  From dumbwaiters to stair lifts and elevators to escalators, they all must be permitted and inspected.  What many folks do not know is that in SC, TN, or NC residential installations are not regulated.  As safety is paramount in a lift application, our recommendation is that you should confirm that the product and installation is compliant to the national elevator code ASME A17.1.  Not sure?  Just ask us!!

Genesis is a resource for educating the building industry.  We provided a lunch and learn for the Pilot building group in Greensboro, GA.  As there are many technologies available in the home elevator industry, how do you keep up with construction requirements?  With new technology available? What is a best fit in the home?  What does code say about installing an elevator into a residence?
